I’ve been in pretty good “work mode” these last couple of days – meaning time is flying by and I have to be careful to keep my priorities straight. It’s too easy to keep working past my bedtime, be late eating one of my meals and not getting my school work done when I’m in the zone trying to accomplish work stuff. The drive and need to make money is obviously a pretty strong incentive but I’m also excited about the things I’m working on, so it’s easy to want to keep doing it.
Monday ended up being a big blur – before I knew it was time to go to bed. Today I had to slow down to study for a test and keep reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma for my Nutrition class. I would have much rather been blogging, updating my websites and creating other content I need to work on.
As I’ve blogged and talked about before, my life is very structured, not in the 9-5 kind of way since I don’t have 9-5 job, but in a school, train, eat, prep, and work kind of way. I usually have 10-12 hour days, pretty much 7 days a week. I have gotten into the habit of at least trying to take one day “off” – if not a day at least an afternoon and evening.
I would say that generally speaking I am very organized, but by no means do I get it all done, nor do I have it all together all the time. There are things that keep falling to the wayside and usually stay there until last minute. Currently a few things I am not addressing are: eye appointment to get new contacts, nail in my driver side front tire (putting air in everyday now it’s getting so bad), sign-up for my competitions, reserve hotel rooms, renew my security clearance (been sitting on this for a year now and it will soon bite me in the arse), schedule a PFT, really have to get Little Man his flea and worm medicine…
Some of these things have not been addressed because they require money I simply don’t have. While the others are things I’m just not keen on doing or require more effort than I deem worth at the moment compared to the other things on my plate. Not sure how much longer I can avoid/put off most of those things.
The rest of my week is loaded up with much of the same things however, there are a few folks I need to follow-up with and I keep praying for the first domino to fall to set in motion the big plans for my life!!
