You are the author of your own life. It’s up to you to dream it, imagine it, sketch it, shape it, build it, go after it and make it happen. And then color it in with bright shining shades of joy and deep lasting shades of meaning that are yours and yours alone. No one else can know the dreams you dream or the strengths you have within you that will help you make your dreams come true. No one needs to because they’re yours. And so is today. Happy Birthday.
I lost many years with my family because of miscommunication, misunderstandings and also because I didn’t think they would understand what I was going through. I can’t get those years back but I’m so glad I’ve come to realize how wrong I was. My family has become my biggest supporters and cheerleaders.
The life I’ve chosen is far from being easy but never have my dad or stepmom asked me to consider doing something different; never have they asked me to fit a square peg in a round hole. I don’t think I can fully explain how much that means to me. Although I’m still struggling in many ways right now – they keep supporting my dreams.
Not everyone is as blessed to have their families understand and support the pursuit of their dreams. Many have to not only fight the battle of chasing their dreams but also the constant nagging from their loved ones to do something else.
Their support is a huge source of motivation; I want to make it to the top and keep making them proud. I want them to see the day I get to live my dreams and have them be part of it.
I know all the people who love me believe in me as much as I believe in myself; there is really no reason to believe I won’t be living my dream soon…it’s simply a matter of time. There will be some serious celebrating when it does happen…I guarantee you that!!
Thank you Jocelyne and Dad – I love you very much!
