The plan for this weekend was to mostly cross country ski, and as time allowed, spend some time breaking in my new Lowa Renegade GTX Mid hiking boots, but nothing went as planned…and I hiked a lot more than I’d expected. I’m incredibly grateful to the amazing fit and comfort of the Lowa Renegade. They were a saving grace to my weekend. Mile after miles, they kept my feet warm, stable and comfortable. They didn’t require a break-in period. My right upper front calf is a little sore, but I didn’t feel anything while I was walking/hiking.
I’m someone who has suffered from plantar fasciitis, torn calf muscle, and I have a bad back and knees but these boots allowed me to hike the miles required to get home safely after my car couldn’t make it up the mountain, and I had to hike instead. They also carried me back down to retrieve my car the next day.
Hiking is an activity I added to my list of outdoor activities for 2015. I went to Decathlon (German/European equivalent of Dick’s Sporting Goods Store) looking for a pair of hiking boots. I tried on many different brands, but as soon as I slipped on the Lowa Renegades…I knew these were the ones I needed to get. I look forward to many more hikes in my Lowa Renedages!
